Christopher
J. Rogers graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Speech Communication from the University of Utah in Salt Lake
City. He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Utah College of
Law, where he was senior staff of the Utah Law Review and the Journal
of Law and Family Studies.
Mr. Rogers joined Eisenberg Gilchrist & Morton in September 2006, focusing on traumatic spine and brain injuries, truck accidents, product liability, insurance and personal injury litigation, professional malpractice, general commercial litigation, and appellate practice. He also has an interest in judicial and legal ethics, writing extensively on the topics.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rogers clerked for Judge Russell W. Bench of the Utah Court of Appeals from 2005-2006 and clerked for Senator Orrin Hatch on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, Judicial Nominations Unit in Washington D.C. in 2002. Licensed to practice law in the State of Utah and admitted before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, Mr. Rogers is a member of the Utah Trial Lawyers Association, the Utah State Bar Litigation Section, and is a Chairperson of the Utah Medical Malpractice Prelitigation Panels for the State of Utah, Department of Professional Licensing.
Mr. Rogers recently published an article in the Utah Trial Journal entitled "Sorensen v. Barbuto: A Warning To Physicians And The Lawyers That Hire Them," discussing the legal and ethical issues that may arise when lawyers communicate with treating physicians. Mr. Rogers’s hobbies include skiing, attending University of Utah football, judging local high school policy debates (especially because he is a former Tournament Of Champions and National Debate Tournament qualifier), and enjoying a good book about theoretical physics or military history and strategy.
