Attorney Profile - JAMES E. MORTON
James E. Morton graduated in 1982 from the University of Pacific School of Law with great distinction. He was a member of the Traynor Honor Society and Editor-in-Chief of the Pacific Law Journal. Following graduation, Mr. Morton served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Andrew Hauk, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
After relocating to Utah, Mr. Morton developed an extensive trial practice focusing on complex commercial litigation, medical malpractice, products liability and environmental torts. He has obtained multiple verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million in a broad variety of cases.
Independent of his time spent practicing law, Mr. Morton was elected to the Board of Bar Commissioners of the Utah State Bar Association. He also has been a contributor to the Utah Bar Journal and the Pacific Law Journal.
Prior to joining Eisenberg Gilchrist & Morton as a full partner, Mr. Morton was the founder and managing partner of Morton & Carmichael.
